Patriots Lineman Questionable To Return In Blow Out Vs. 49ers

The New England Patriots are having a terrible game against the San Francisco 49ers. Well, that’s not the only problem New England has right now. The Patriots may lose a lineman due to an injury and the situation doesn’t look too good.

Losing a talented player is the last thing New England needs at this point in the regular season. offensive guard Joe Thuney left the game in the third quarter due to an ankle injury. The team ruled him questionable to return in the game.

We don’t really know if Thuney’s absence is a result of his injury. New England trailed San Francisco 30-6 after the third quarter.

Thuney suffered his ankle injury on a third-quarter drive. The Patriots were losing to the Niners, and Thuney was taken to the locker room after spending some time on the sideline. The team staff examined him and he had to go to the locker room.

Patriots lineman to stay on the sideline

The lineman has played every offensive snap in the season before his injury. Thuney started the game at left guard, but had filled in at center this season. He has played tackle before in his football career. Thuneu has been of great help for the offensive line that has been playing without David Andrews (broken thumb), Shaq Mason (COVID high risk) and James Ferentz (COVID-19).

Michael Onwenu went to left guard from right tackle and Justin Herron moved to right tackle.

The 28-year-old Thuney joined second-year wideout N’Keal Harry on the sideline. The wideout took a big hit in the head in the first half of the game and didn’t join his teammates.

New England has several important topics to address and they really need Thuney for the rest of the season. This injury comes after the big splash of rumors about Thuney’s potential trade to another team.

The Patriots are losing their Week 7 and that’s the third straight loss for head coach Bill Belichick and his team. It’s a terrible scenario for the team.
