Patriots Release List Of Inactives For Week 4 Game vs Chiefs

The New England Patriots will challenge the Kansas City Chiefs with a different group of players, and the team has released the list of inactives. Playing against the defending Super Bowl champions is not an easy thing to do, and New England will play without starting quarterback Cam Newton.

The 2015 NFL MVP tested positive for coronavirus. Head coach Bill Belichick will use veteran journeyman Brian Hoyer as a replacement for Newton. Starting right guard Shaq Mason won’t join his team either as he is treating his calf injury.

Patriots to change the line after releasing the list of inactives

New England has some good news for all the fans out there. Running back Damien Harris will see action in Week 4. The same applies to wide receiver Gunner Olszewski. The Patriots activated both players from injured reserve Monday. They are about to have their season debuts with the team

Veteran running back Sony Michel won’t play. The team placed him on injured reserve Monday. Harris is the lead candidate for the team’s “bell-cow running back role.” Of course, he will have to share snaps with James White and rookie J.J. Taylor.

Harris was a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. he received just three carries while standing behind Michel, Rex Burkhead, White and Brandon Bolden in his rookie season.

Harris was the best running back for the Patriots in training camp. However, his hand injury was pretty bad and it affected his role with the team.

Olszeqski will be the Patriots’ top punt returner. He may be busy in the offense. He will definitely have to compete with veteran Julian Edelman, N’Keal Harry, Damiere Byrd and Isiaih Zuber.

Here are the Patriots’ list of inactives:

TE Dalton Keene
RG Shaq Mason (calf)
CB Myles Bryant
WR Jakobi Meyers

Keene has yet to play in the NFL. Ryan Izzo, rookie Devis Asiasi and Jakob Johnson will be used in his place. New England will have to reshape the offensive line with Mason out. They already had to change the line last week after David Andrews sustained an injury.
