Report: Patriots Activate David Andrews, Elevate Reserves In Series Of Roster Moves

The New England Patriots have made some roster moves ahead of the highly anticipated game against the San Francisco 49ers. The team would do whatever it takes to regain control on the field. New England plays Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers, and head coach Bill Belichick is more than prepared to face the challenge.

Pats activated starting center David Andrews off of IR Saturday. They also elevated defensive end Tashawn Bower and defensive tackle Nick Thurman off of the practice unit. Both players will return to practice squad Monday.

Patriots to make more roster moves

New England placed Andrews on IR due to a hand injury ahead of their Week 3 match. He had to miss three games before hitting the field again. Andrews, linebacker Josh Uche, and defensive tackle Beau Allen had their practice this week. Each player was designated for return off of IR. But the Patriots didn’t activate Uche and Allen for the game.

Bower may make his debut with the team. He may step in as a replacement for Derek Rivers who may not join his teammates in the game against the Niners due to a back injury.

Thurman played with the Patriots in the last three games. He will be a rotational defensive tackle alongside Lawrence Guy, Adam Butler and Byron Cowart. Carl Davis is out due to a concussion and Allen has a spot on injured reserve. New England signed Davis off of the Jacksonville Jaguars practice unit, and he can’t join the team due to NFL protocols.

It’s an important game for the Patriots and players will try to cut the losing streak. Some NFL analysts expressed concerns about the Patriots’ losing record at this point in the season. The team hasn’t had a similar losing record in many years. Well, Tom Brady is out and the Patriots are still trying to find their winning formula. Maybe Belichick will make a few more roster moves. Bringing another talented wide receiver or tight end seems like a reasonable option for the team. There’s plenty of time, and New England will do the best to win more games.
