Report: Patriots Planning To Bring Extra Quarterback To Kansas City Just In Case

The New England Patriots are planning to bring a few extra quarterback to Kansas City in case of any emergencies. The Patriots have been looking very impressive this year so far. After a very disappointing 2019 season, it is very refreshing to see the Patriots play so well on offense so far this season. But sadly, it was bound to happen. Cam Newton was recently diagnosed with COVID-19.

This year was definitely headed in the right direction. So far, Cam Newton has looked very good. He is definitely bringing a freshness to the team that was not here in previous years. Had coach and General Manager Bill Belichick has talked about him and what he has brought to the table in the past.

“I think when you’re talking about mobile quarterbacks — guys that are tough to handle, can throw, run, make good decisions … — I would put him at the top of the list.  “Not saying there aren’t a lot of other good players that do that, but I would say of all the guys we played recently in the last couple of years, I think he’s the hardest guy to (defend).”

“He makes good decisions, can run. He’s strong. He’s hard to tackle. He can do a lot of different things. He can beat you in a lot of different ways. We saw that in the game in 2013. I would put him at the top of the list. I’m not saying the other guys aren’t a problem, because they are. But he’s maybe public enemy No. 1.”

Report: Patriots Planning To Bring Extra Quarterback To Kansas City Just In Case

But with the positive COVID test, Newton is not able to play in the game against the Kansas City Chiefs tonight. As a result, the Patriots will bring an extra quarterback to Kansas City just in case.

The Patriots are going to bring practice squad quarterback Jake Dolegala to Kansas City. Brian Hoyer is most likely going to start instead of Newton, and Jarrett Stidham will serve as the backup QB.
