Report: Trade Rumors Are Swirling For One New England Patriots Star

There are some trade rumors swirling for 1 Patriots star. The Patriots have very much struggled to get back on track after positive COVID tests. Bill Belichick thought they had it under control.

“Today’s an important day in our preparation for the Broncos,” Belichick said. “We’ve had several days now of virtual meetings between the staff members and from the staff to the players. We’ve been able to cover a lot of things, but we haven’t spent any time together, so today’s our opportunity to do that. We look forward to that. One thing that we’ve learned this year repeatedly has been we have to be ready to adjust and adapt to changes and modifications and the way we do things and, in some cases, decisions that really come down to a very short amount of time that we have to be ready to adjust to.”

“So we’re certainly taking things day by day — probably hour by hour would be more accurate. We’ll just see how we progress and then as we find out more on our end, or if there are other things externally that we can’t control that, then we’ll deal with those as they come. That’s the way it’s been all year. I think our team and our players have done a good job of handling those adjustments, and we’ll continue to do that.”

Sadly, that was not the case.

Now, it looks like the NFL is working on trading a current star.

“They have talked about the idea of trading Stephon Gilmore,” NFL insider Albert Breer said today. “They were in contact with other teams in March and April, and again in August. The question then becomes what you’re willing to take for him, because I don’t think it’s going to be a first-round pick. … But if you’re willing to move him for a second or a third, I think there could be a market out there for him.”

“The Patriots are starting to look ahead here,” Joe Murray said this week. “They’re 2-3. Cam Newton hasn’t played well. The schedule doesn’t get any easier, and right now, Buffalo is ahead. Would it make sense, with all the Patriots’ depth in their secondary, to try to get ahead of it and move on from Stephon Gilmore now? And one of the teams that may be interested is the Chicago Bears. Now, I don’t know if the Bears want to give up a (2021) first round pick, but that’s what it’s gonna cost — maybe more, a first and a third … this is what we’ve heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub. That the Bears may have interest in trading for Stephon Gilmore if the Patriots make him available.”
