Report: Two Patriots Are ‘Names To Watch’ For Texans’ Coaching Job

The Houston Texans may go through a serious of changes in the next period. Jack Easterby knows how to make people talk. He became executive vice president of football operations for the Texans, and things took a completely different turn since then. Easterby fired former general manager Brian Gaine and head coach Bill O’Brien. According to an NFL Insider, at least two members of the Patriots family are candidates for the coaching job.

“Jack Easterby, on a long-term contract, is close with Patriots OC Josh McDaniels, as well as de facto GM Nick Caserio,” NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport on Monday speculated via Twitter. “Both clearly names to watch in Houston.”

The Patriots may lose McDaniels if he gets the coaching job

Easterby worked with the Patriots offensive coordinator and the director of player personnel during his time as a character coach and player favorite with the team. He left the Patriots in June 2019 to become the Texans executive vice president of team development. Easterby decided to take his talents to the Patriots’ rivals. Will he be able to take some of the Patriots staffers with him? It’s a really murky theory, but most NFL analysts would agree that McDaniels may try to get the coaching job. He was linked with several teams.

Well, head coach Bill Belichick has always found a way to change McDaniels’ mind. Will he find a way to do the same this time?

New England went through a lot lately. Losing Caserio and McDaniels will be awful for the team. Tom Brady is out and Cam Newton tested positive right before the game against the Kansas City Chiefs. New England entered the season with a lot of new names on the roster. Replacing McDaniels will be hard and getting another Caserio will be even harder. Let’s hope that the Patriots won’t lose some of their top staffers to the AFC rival.

Patriots players are getting ready for the game against the Kansas City Chiefs.  Brian Hoyer is leading the team on the way to the top.
