Rob Pelinka Teases Plans to Pair Anthony Davis With Young Star

The Los Angeles Lakers Vice President Rob Pelinka has teased a plan to pair Anthony Davis with a young NBA star. The Lakers are still coming down from their NBA title high. This was great to see. The Lakersnation definitely deserved this long and fought out title. This year has been tough for everyone. But the Lakers had to deal with the death of Kobe Bryant and the COVID situation.

LeBron James talked about how hard this was recently. Take a look.

“I am here for one reason and one reason only, and that’s to compete for a championship,” James said. “That was my mindset once I entered the bubble, once I entered the quarantine process the first two days. And then right from my first practice my mindset was to, if I’m going to be here, make the most of it and see what you can do and lock in on what the main thing is. And the main thing was for us to finish the season and compete for a championship.”

“So that’s just been my mindset throughout these — I don’t even know how many days it is, whatever how many days it is, it feels like five years so it really doesn’t matter. I’ve been as locked in as I’ve ever been in my career.”

But VP Pelinka has some good plans. Take a look at what has come out recently. This could be huge.

“We do want to do a couple things,” Pelinka said. “We hope that we can have another championship run next year, for sure, and we’re going to work hard to try to keep the pieces around LeBron and AD, build pieces around LeBron and AD to do that. But also, with the future, again, if you study our cap (space) we have the flexibility to say, ‘Can we add another really, really talented young player to run it out with AD if he chooses to stay as a free agent for five, six, seven, eight years?’”

A young player to complement LeBron and AD would be huge. This would definitely help them get back on track next year. Do you agree?
