Superstar Lakers Target Has Telling Admission About Trade Rumors

The Los Angeles Lakers won the 2020 NBA championship, and teams are already trying to get some of the players. The 2019-20 season ended a few weeks ago and the free agency and trade season will start in the near future. LA has been linked to many players, and one particular Lakers target is part of a big trade rumor.

The Lakers have shown interest in many superstars. They tried really hard to get Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans. The first attempt was a failure, and LA had more luck in the second shot. The team gave up on three young talents and two picks. It was a big pack, but Davis is worth every bit of it. He helped LeBron James win the NBA championship.

So, LA is off to another title, and they may need to get another star. Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal is one of the most popular targets. His team has had a terrible performance in the past few years, but Beal hasn’t requested a trade. Moreover, Beal did his best to tell everyone that he is staying in Washington.

The Lakers target is away from the trade block

Things changed in the past few months. Beal appeared on Old Man and the Three podcast and suggested that he may be interested in leaving the Wizards. Of course, this will happen if the Wizards don’t commit to winning. From what we can see, the franchise is far from becoming a contender.

“You still want to be able to protect yourself and kind of be selfish in that regard and (look at) how I can create some type of flexibility for myself if we aren’t winning, if I do choose to get out,” Beal said. “That’s why it was a one and one versus a full three-year (deal).”

Beal will enter his contract year, and the Wizards may trade him if they have a slow start of the season. The star is well aware of the number of teams interested in his skills.

“Teams are trying,” he said. “A lot of them are calling, a lot of them are inquiring and putting packages together – trying to see if they can get me. That’s not a secret.”

The Lakers may want Beal, but they will probably stay away from him in 2020. Getting rid of Beal would mean that Washington is planning a rebuild. In that case, the team would need a lot of young talents. The Lakers don’t have any of that.

LA may wait for Beal to enter the open market. If Beals requests a trade suggesting that he wants the Lakers, his value will see a significant drop.
