Watch: Shaquille O’Neal Reveals Magic Johnson’s Key Piece of Advice When he Came to LA

Shaquille O’Neal has revealed Magic Johnson’s key piece of advice when he came to Los Angeles. Shaq has made a name for himself not only on the basketball court, but also on TV. He has been very entertaining to watch on the different shows that he has taken part of. Not only that, but he has also tested the waters in other professions like teaching and policing.

He has always had a valid interest in the Lakers and what they are doing as an organization. Well, he must be pretty happy about the Lakers title this season. It was obviously a tough year for everyone. But for Laker fans, it was at least a bit of a bounce back. LeBron James recently talked about how hard this season was to deal with given the bubble.

“I am here for one reason and one reason only, and that’s to compete for a championship,” James said. “That was my mindset once I entered the bubble, once I entered the quarantine process the first two days. And then right from my first practice my mindset was to, if I’m going to be here, make the most of it and see what you can do and lock in on what the main thing is. And the main thing was for us to finish the season and compete for a championship.”

“So that’s just been my mindset throughout these — I don’t even know how many days it is, whatever how many days it is, it feels like five years so it really doesn’t matter. I’ve been as locked in as I’ve ever been in my career.”

Shaq is one of the best big men to ever play in the NBA. But to this day, he credits a piece of advice that he got from Magic Johnson for his success.

“Where did I get my business acumen from,” Shaq said. “Magic Johnson when I first got to L.A. said, ‘Shaq, it’s okay to be famous and all that, but at some point, you want to start owning things.’ First thing I said was, ‘Okay, I want to own a clothing line.’”

Well, it might not have anything to do with basketball but it is still a very good piece of advice. What do you think about this?
