Bill Belichick Provides Injury Update On Patriots Receiver Julian Edelman

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick doesn’t really talk much about his players. However, the legendary coach provided an injury update on veteran wideout Julian Edelman.

Patriots fans will love the good news. Coach Belichick shared details of Edelman’s condition Wednesday. The team placed Edelman on injured reserve on Oct. 31 following his knee procedure. The wideout was eligible to return to the field last week.

“Yeah, I think Julian’s definitely headed in the right direction,” Belichick told media members Wednesday. “I spoke to him and he’s feeling better every day, confident, stronger. So we’ll just take it day by day. And when he’s ready to go, we’ll put him out there. We don’t want to rush it or put him out there and, I don’t know, there’s a setback and then we run out of time. When he’s ready, he’ll be back out there. I know he’s working very hard to get back out there as soon as he can. We’ll just take that day by day and see when we all think that time is right.”

A promising injury update on Julian Edelman

New England will take the practice field Wednesday, however the wideout won’t take part in it. Jim McBride from The Boston Globe was the first to report Edelman’s status. Once he returns to practice, New England has 21 day to add him to the active roster. If the Patriots don’t activate Edelman, the wideout would revert to season-ending injured reserve.

New England has a 2-2 record without the star wideout. Jakobi Meyers saw greater action in his absence. Veteran wideout Julian Edelman throws passes to Damiere Byrd, N’Keal Harry, Isaiah Ford. Gunner Olszewski, Donte Moncrief, Isaiah Zuber, and Kristian Wilkerson are on the Patriots practice unit.

Edelman has been dealing with injuries for quite some time. He will return to the field ready to win games. New England had a great game, but the loss to Houston reduced players’ chances to make the playoffs. To make the playoffs, the Patriots will have to win the remaining six games of the regular season.
