Cam Newton Reveals Exactly What Patriots Need to Get Back on Track

Cam Newton has revealed exactly what the Patriots need to get back on track this season. The start of this NFL season for the Patriots looked very promising. They were going into the year with a brand new quarterback in Cam Newton. For the first few games, he looked very impressive. But the team has since taken a step back.

The COVID situation obviously did not help. Cam Newton was the first Patriot player to test positive for the virus and had to sit out for a game. But this was not the only issue. There are several problems with what is going on right now. Bill Belichick did recently talk about a few additions made to the team in Isaiah Ford and Isaiah Mack.

“We felt like both players could add depth at two positions we feel like we could use the depth at,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Wednesday in a video conference. “One claim, one trade. We’ll see. We won’t really be able to do anything with these players for another week, so we’ll see what happens then.”

“We have various ways of trying to do our research on all players,” Belichick said when asked if the Patriots solicited insight from any of their Miami connections or from Bolden, who opted out of the season due to coronavirus concerns. ” … Whatever opportunities we have to research and gain information on players, that’s what we do.”

With these additions come some new found confidence in Cam Newton. He recently talked about the one thing they need to get to get back on track.

“Just the vibe that you get in that locker room is we just need one,” Newton said, via WEEI on Monday. “Going back and knowing this team as well as I do know this team, coming off of that Raiders win, I think everybody had a full head of steam and momentum. Then obviously what happened with COVID and everything like that, it’s just been a slippery slope, walking down a slippery aisle trying to regain your footing. One thing I do know about this team is once we get that first one, that next one is almost, ‘OK, we remember how to win. OK, we know how this feels. This is where situational football kicks in, let’s do a better job of doing this, that and the third.”
