Danny Green Offers Sage Advice to ‘Cocky’ Clippers

The Los Angeles Lakers won the 2020 NBA Championship, beating a lot of NBA teams in Orlando. It was a good postseason for the Lakers, but their city rivals are far from happy. Lakers veteran guard Danny Green has something to say about the Clippers. We believe many NBA fans would agree with him.

Green delivered his jab at Kawhi Leonard’s team for their “perceived arrogance” about winning the big title Los Angeles Lakers won.

The Lakers guard went on the “Real Ones” podcast and talked about the situation between both LA teams. Green’s advice seems pretty sound.

“I think the basketball Gods will humble you if you don’t play the game the right way or do the right thing. . . You shouldn’t be as cocky or because a lot of times it’s going to go the opposite way,” Green said.

Danny Green motivates Clippers

The Clippers were considered favorites to win the title. Their great success started at the moment they got Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Well, this wasn’t enough.

The Clippers finished runner-up to the Lakers for the best regular-season record in the West, but some fans still saw them as title contenders.

These expectations weren’t questioned after Leonard and his teammates had a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference semifinals series against the Denver Nuggets. Well, Denver had better game and players overcame a 3-1 deficit to make the conference finals. They did meet LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the rest of the players on the Lakers roster. Denver lost to LA in five games.

The Clippers suffered a big loss, and the team fired head coach Doc Rivers. George received a big splash of criticism for the Clippers’ failure.

Tyronn Lue is the new Clippers head coach. Hopefully, he will pay attention to Green’s comments. Maybe this will be his motivation to help the Clippers win more games. Los Angeles is unstoppable, but the Lakers are the ultimate winners. Kawhi’s team will have to try harder to win more games in the 2020-21 season. LeBron won’t excuse their mistakes.
