Lakers Worked Out Promising Young Arizona Playmaker on Tuesday

The Los Angeles Lakers may lose a few veterans this offseason. LeBron James is staying and the team will have to wait for Anthony Davis’ final decision. The big man is expected to stay with the Lakers in the next few years. Los Angeles has been linked with several top names, including Chris Paul, Serge Ibaka, and a few others. According to recent reports, the Lakers have worked out an Arizona playmaker on Tuesday.

University of Arizona guard Nico Mannion is a good fit for the Lakers. He will look well on the roster.

The Lakers could use a playmaker next to LeBron James

Los Angeles has the No. 28 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Will Mannion make it to this selection? NBA analysts wouldn’t agree on this one.

The 19-year-old was an All-PAC-12 player in his freshman year. Mannion was averaging 14.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game while shooting 32.7 percent from beyond the arc.

The Lakers will need to strengthen the backcourt. Veteran Rajon Rondo will probably test the open market and sign with another team. Avery Bradley changed his agent, indicating a potential departure from Los Angeles.

Mannion is a talented player and an excellent shooter. This is more than important for the current Lakers team. His talent is a good match for Los Angeles, and LeBron James won’t have trouble getting along with him. The four-time NBA champion sure knows how to recognize true talent.

The NBA draft will happen on Nov. 18. Los Angeles and other NBA teams will start off the 2020-21 regular season on Christmas Day. A lot of players opposed the idea of hitting the floor that early. Some of them changed their minds. LeBron blasted this plan first, but he changed his mind, claiming that it’s good for the team.

The Lakers will need a third superstar to make the top of the Western Conference again. LeBron and Davis play well together, but they could definitely use some help. Lakers bench players did well in Orlando, and the team better replicates this success.
