Latest Update on Patriots’ Damien Harris’ Status For Game vs Ravens

Damien Harris’ chest injury shocked Patriots fans, and the team needs him for the game vs Baltimore Ravens. He is a key player on the Patriots’ roster. Fans would love to see the best of him on Sunday.

Harris’ injury was minor and he won’t miss the game. The veteran was a limited participant in Patriots practices this week. Is he ready for Sunday’s game against Baltimore? You can bet he is.

“To be honest, I’m not really here to talk about (the injury),” Harris said in a video conference with media members. “It happened. It’s over with. I’ve been out here trying to get myself ready to play in this game, and that’s what I’m focusing on.

“We know we’re playing a good, physical team this week, and I’ve been just trying to do my part in getting myself as mentally ready, as physically ready to be able to play in this game and try to help us be successful and help us try to play our best game as an offense.”

Harris sustained an ankle injury two weeks ago. He played really well since returning from IR. In his five games as Patriots lead back, Harris averaged 5.6 yards per carry. That made him the third-best player on the roster with 50-plus rushing attempts during that time. Harris also hit the 100-yard mark twice.

New England needs Damien Harris’ talent in the game vs Ravens

Before sustaining his injury Monday, Harris had 14 carries for a game-high 17 yards. It was impressive.

“Damien has very good natural running instincts,” Patriots running backs coach Ivan Fears said Friday. “Most of these guys do. The thing that he does for a guy his size, he runs hard, which is really, really nice. And I mean, he runs hard, and his vision is outstanding. He’s going to be a downhill runner. He hits you hard. He hits you fast. That’s the kind of stuff that makes them so attractive.”

The Patriots have yet to confirm Harris’ status for Sunday’s game. Sony Michel returned to practice, and Harris will split his load with him.
