LeBron James Just Sent a Powerful Message About the Tragic Death of Friend’s Sister

LeBron James has just sent a powerful message about the tragic death of his friend’s sister. LeBron and the Lakers are still coming down from their high of winning the title. There was a lot that went into their win this season and it was far from easy. This was a season unlike any that we have ever seen before.

Staying in the NBA bubble for nearly 4 months was very tough to deal with for the Lakers. LeBron talked about this recently. Take a look at what he had to say.

“I am here for one reason and one reason only, and that’s to compete for a championship,” James said. “That was my mindset once I entered the bubble, once I entered the quarantine process the first two days. And then right from my first practice my mindset was to, if I’m going to be here, make the most of it and see what you can do and lock in on what the main thing is. And the main thing was for us to finish the season and compete for a championship.

“So that’s just been my mindset throughout these — I don’t even know how many days it is, whatever how many days it is, it feels like five years so it really doesn’t matter. I’ve been as locked in as I’ve ever been in my career.”

But now that that the playoffs are finished, there are more important things on LeBron’s mind. One of those involves the death of his friend’s sister. He took to Twitter to ask for help.

On Monday, Ericka Weems’, the sister of Cavaliers executive Brandon Weems, was found in her home in Akron, Ohio. According to reports that followed the death, she died to a gunshot wound to the head.

Weems’ death hit LeBron James very hard. Brenda Lewis-Weems, who passed away in 2006, was James’ godmother. Brandom Weems played basketball with LeBron back in the day.
