Mark Cuban Shares LeBron James’ Final Statement on Crucial Call That Saved 2020 NBA Playoffs

LeBron James and his Los Angeles Lakers almost lost a chance to win the 2020 NBA Playoffs. NBA teams boycotted postseason games following the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wis. Games were rescheduled, and many thought that the NBA would bring the postseason to an end.

One call changed it all.

Taylor Rook discussed the NBA bubble in Orlando and LeBron’s role in the boycott. According to her, the four-time NBA champion had a final say that led to a change.

“It was LeBron James who had the final statement on the call,” Rooks wrote.

Lakers’ LeBron had a big call during the 2020 NBA playoffs

Dallas Mavericks owner Marc Cuban spoke about the same call. LeBron talked to the NBA’s elite and had the final say.

“I thought [LeBron] was really compelling,” Cuban said. “He talked about how we need to be able to connect to young African American kids. What really stuck with me was when he said a lot of kids where he grew up can’t afford cable and that the only way to watch our games is on cable. And we have a challenge [in addressing] those types of issues and lifting people up, so that it’s not about cable or watching the NBA on cable but more about: How do we help these kids improve where they are in life?”

LeBron always talks about important topics. He made statements on police brutality, systemic racism, and other social issues. He is one of the most vocal athletes in the world of sports and uses his success as a platform. LeBron addresses important topics and helps people overcome obstacles.

The greatest of all time led the Lakers to a championship win. The Lakers hadn’t won a title in a decade, and LeBron helped the team defeat Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat. In the playoffs, King James was averaging 27.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game with the team. He is the first player in league history to win the Finals MVP award with three different teams. Guess what… LeBron is also ready to win another Finals MVP award.
