Patriots’ Julian Edelman Suffers COVID-19 Setback

New England Patriots wideout Julian Edelman recovers from his knee, and now he deals with COVID-19.

The wideout recovers from his knee procedure and that’s not the only problem he has right now. Field Yates from ESPN reported that the Patriots veteran has ended on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

We don’t know if Edelman has tested positive or if he has been in contact with positive individuals. The wideout has to be in quarantine until his tests return negative.

Head coach Bill Belichick appeared on WEEI’s OMF to talk about Edelman’s potential return to the field. The Patriots placed Edelman on IR following his procedure.

“I know he’s working extremely hard, and I would certainly never count Julian out of anything. He’s got tremendous will and a great work ethic, and (he’s) very competitive. Football is very important to him.”

Julian Edelman to clear COVID-19 protocols

Edelman had to undergo a surgery at the end of October. He was eligible to return from IR for the past couple of weeks. But, the wideout wasn’t able to practice and he is still inactive.

Having him outside the field is a good thing. If he practiced with the team, some Patriots players may have ended on the covid list.

The team has yet to provide info on Edelman’s potential contact with his teammates.

If the wideout hasn’t tested positive, and he clears the quarantine period, he would be able to return to the field. New England hasn’t provided any information about his recovery, so his knee procedure was definitely an issue.

Coronavirus has affected every team in the league. The Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos are in a terrible situation. Denver had no available quarterbacks, and that’s not the best scenario, right?

The Patriots have a 6-5 record and they will try to do their best to win the upcoming games. Head coach Belichick has great plans for the team and he will use his talent and experience to get the best of them. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton has to play better and NFL experts aren’t really happy with his performance in Week 12.
