Report: Anthony Davis Will Enter Free Agent Market

NBA free agency will start within a few days, and some players have made a decision regarding their status. Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis decided to decline the $28.7 million player option on his contract, and he will become an unrestricted free agent.

Basketball experts saw this coming. They also know that Davis is likely to re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. General Manager Rob Pelinka is taking care of that question. Keeping Davis on the roster is of utmost importance. He was LeBron James’ right hand and was of great importance to the team. Thanks to Davis, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to win the 17th title in team history.

Anthony Davis decides to become unrestricted free agent

Los Angeles got Davis last July. It was a good decision, and the Lakers had a hard time getting him. The New Orleans Pelicans wouldn’t give up on him. He was two valuable and Magic Johnson’s first attempt ended up with a failure. LA tried again and offered to send most of their young players to New Orleans and a few picks to get Davis.

The big man created an instant connection with LeBron and the rest of the guys on the Lakers roster. The team had a brilliant performance and made the top of the Western Conference. LA players had to stay home for four months before returning to the courts in Orlando. This break didn’t change a thing and LA was as dominant as it used to be earlier in the season. Davis was leading the team in points, and he was brilliant in every game.

Davis was averaging 26.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game in the regular season. He was even better in the playoffs. LA made deep postseason and Davis hit 38.3 percent of his 3-pointers.

Los Angeles will need Davis in the upcoming season. He is the right player to join LeBron in the quest for another title. Lakers players felt really great following the win and they will surely want to replicate this success.
