Report: Lakers Have Engaged in Trade Talks With Knicks

The Los Angeles Lakers may pull out another trade deal, and this time they are linked with the New York Knicks. The team entered the offseason with great plans regarding the roster. General Manager Rob Pelinka and the Lakers front office have made some moves, and one of them includes getting Oklahoma City Thunder Dennis Schroder. Veteran Danny Green has to go this time. How about Kyle Kuzma? Los Angeles doesn’t seem to be willing to give up on the young player. They would have traded him by now. Kuzma survived the trade wave last offseason. Lonzo Ball and a few other players had to leave the Lakers, and Kuzma stayed.

Kuzma really hopes to get a contract extension with the team. But he didn’t have the best performance this season. LA may want to trade him for a talented player.

Legion Hoops reports that the Los Angeles Lakers have talked to the Knicks. This conversation includes a potential Kuzma trade.

The Knicks have been trying to adjust the roster to perfection for years. Kuzma is not the superstar they need, but he can definitely develop into a star in the next few years. The talented player was part of a championship team and this adds value to his contract. Maybe Kuzma’s playoff experience will help the Knicks score better in the upcoming season.

Lakers may need this trade with the Knicks

New York missed the playoffs in each of the last seven years. The franchise was supposed to get a few young talents, but the front office failed to do so. Los Angeles will have to be careful about Kuzma. RJ Barrett is an intriguing young talent, but the player is a building block for the team. He won’t leave the franchise in the near future. What about Kevin Knox? His value can’t be compared to Kuzma’s value on the market.

Los Angeles may reunite with Julius Randle. He was averaging 19.5 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. He did well with Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans two years ago. Will he join the Lakers as a backup for Davis.
