Report: LeBron James Has Strong Feelings About Dennis Schroder Joining Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James didn’t have much saying in the team’s offseason work, but he definitely shared his thoughts on the Dennis Schroder trade.

LeBron and his teammates will have the shortest offseason in team history, and they use every minute of their free time to rest and relax. Well, they don’t miss a chance to work out and get ready for the upcoming season.

LA has yet to officialize the deal with Schroder. Brian Windhorst from ESPN reported that the king really wanted to play with the Oklahoma City Thunder star.

“They almost traded for him at the deadline in 2019 and they didn’t. There’s been a lot of interest there for a while,” Windhorst said. “The Lakers have wanted, for a while, to get – and I know they’re very different players – but Rob Pelinka has been very interested in Dennis Schröder and very interested in Derrick Rose … LeBron really likes his game. LeBron’s wanted to play with him for a while. Like I said, they almost traded for him before.”

LeBron James likes Dennis Schroder

Rose seems like a good choice for the Lakers, but experts believe that Schroder is a better addition. He is still young and hasn’t been plagued with serious injuries. The four-time NBA champion can really use a strong backup point guard on the field.

Anthony Davis will soon make a decision regarding his future with the Lakers. But, he did give his opinion on Schroder’s trade. Chris Haynes from Yahoo Sports has more details.

“He’s a great pickup, with Schröder alongside LeBron, and the other guys they decide to acquire or whatever … I think it was a good pickup,” Davis said. “Like you said, he could easily win sixth man of the year, any given year. He played great alongside [Chris Paul] and Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander]. He’s tough, he shot the ball well this year, he can get in the paint, he can find guys, and he’s very, very scrappy.”

The Lakers will use Schroder as a third scoring option. Most of the players on the current roster will elevate their game, but Schroder is a consistent target.
