Super Bowl Champion Has Bold Prediction on Cam Newton Future in Patriots

The New England Patriots don’t really have a successful season. They have a 4-5 record at this point of the season and sit well outside the playoff picture. To make the playoffs, New England has to win pretty much every game of the remainder of the season. Only a few teams have done that in over two decades. In other words, head coach Bill Belichick and his team don’t have a big chance to make the playoffs in 2020. How will this affect veteran quarterback Cam Newton and his future with the Patriots?

Newton was great in the game against the Houston Texans, but he couldn’t win the game all by himself.

Cam Newton has a good future with the Patriots

The 2015 NFL MVP signed a one-year deal with the Patriots. If the Patriots don’t give him another deal, he will have to go in 2021. But, this deal may give Newton a good chance to do something great next year.

CBS analysts and former New York Giants great Phil Simms praised Newton and offered a bold prediction for his future with the team.

Newton’s fans in New England will definitely love this. However, some people don’t like him any near head coach Bill Belichick.

The Patriots have a 4-6 record, and players will have to play really hard to make the top of the AFC. Belichick’s team is not eliminated, but there’s no room for optimism this time.

Henry McKenna from USA Today ranked Newton in the same ballpark as quarterback Tom Brady in the season. Newton had his ups and downs throughout the season. He tested positive for coronavirus but did his best to win games.

The starting quarterback completes 68 percent of his passes. He shows great ability to make defenses pay down the field.

The Patriots may go after another quarterback in free agency. They can also select a player in the 2021 NFL Draft. But, New England can also offer Newton a new deal. Maybe he will sign a two-year deal with the team.
