Watch: This Kobe And LeBron Moment Happened One Year Ago Today

LeBron James led the Los Angeles Lakers for the first time in a decade. Kobe Bryant and his Lakers team won the previous title in 2010. King James and the Black Mamba didn’t get a chance to play on the same team, but they sure had a lot of respect for each other. Kobe and LeBron shared an amazing moment a year ago.

In a recent video, we got reminded of the Kobe-LeBron moment a year ago. It was definitely great to see both superstars greet each other at the sideline. LeBron made his way to Kobe and had a short convo with the Lakers legend. It was a good conversation. You can tell that by the smiles on their faces.

Kobe and LeBron planned to meet a year ago

Kobe lost his life in a tragic helicopter accident outside Los Angeles earlier this year. The Black Mamba was traveling with his daughter Gianna and seven others. The world of basketball had a hard time accepting the tragedy. It’s hard for everyone to accept the fact that Kobe will no longer attend Lakers games at Staples Center. He was a regular at the sidelines.

In one of his interviews inside the NBA bubble, LeBron talked about his two-year experience with the Lakers. He also revealed the plans he and Kobe had for a one-on-one meeting right after he inked his four-year deal with the team. LeBron and Kobe had tight schedules, and this meeting never happened.

“Of course, you think there’s going to be time for us to get together and I understand that there are regrets in life, but I definitely wish I had that moment with him,” LeBron told Yahoo Sports.

The four-time NBA champion is definitely grateful for how welcoming Kobe was upon his signing with the Lakers. Some Lakers fans weren’t too excited about LeBron’s arrival in Los Angeles. They destroyed his murals. Fans wanted him to go back to Cleveland. But, LeBron showed everyone that he is the right player to lead the Lakers to a successful postseason. His debut with the team was a failure and he sustained a terrible injury. Young Lakers players couldn’t create a connection with him. But, season 2 was awesome and the Lakers won a ring.
