Anthony Davis Shares Strong Message Regarding Kyle Kuzma Role

Los Angeles Lakers rising star Kyle Kuzma is expected to have a big role in the upcoming 2020-21 NBA season. Current and former Lakers players agree on this one. Lakers big man Anthony Davis shares the same opinion. Kuzma’s role changed multiple times this past season. He went from the starting lineup to coming off the Lakers bench.

Kuzma will enter his fourth season with the Lakers. How will Lakers head coach Frank Vogel use him? Let’s not forget that Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka signed a lot of stars this offseason. This will put Kuzma in an uncomfortable position. Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell were candidates for Sixth Man of the Year in 2019-20.

When reporters asked Kuzma about his role on Wednesday, he said, “I don’t know, we’ll see.”

Vogel to make a decision on Kyle Kuzma and his role

Talen Horton-Tucker had excellent preseason. He was shooting 47 percent from beyond the arc and hit 22 points per game. Kuzma led his team against the Suns, recording 23 points on 53.3 percent shooting with 3 rebounds and 2 assists.

“I worked hard during the short offseason,” Kuzma said in a postgame interview with Lakers reporter Mike Trudell. “I’m a little ahead of the curve.”

AD is here to praise Kuzma, too. According to him, Kuzma will see a bigger role.

“It’s going to be a big year for him,” Davis said. “He’s going to play a bigger role for us this year and we need him to continue to do what Kuz do.”

LeBron James didn’t talk to the media about Kuzma. But, we saw his name on the Internet. The post said, “Name an NBA player you think will take a giant leap this season.” What did LeBron do? He responded, “Kyle Kuzma!”

Dennis Schroder is also impressed with Kuzma.

“Great talent. Works really hard,” he said. “Great guy, but more impressed by how he works.”

Kuzma is determined to do his best and contribute to the game.

“I’m just learning every single day from LeBron and AD, having AD as an example of a player that does it on both ends,” he said last season. “That’s kind of how I want my career to be. It’s all about digging in deep, addressing my weaknesses and attacking them. Just not being scared.”
