Cam Newton Gives Strong Hint About Where He Wants to Play in 2021

The New England Patriots will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2008. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton has some struggles on the field, and he has shared some thoughts on his game in 2021.

Newton didn’t reveal the details, but some experts were able to read between the lines. The veteran quarterback met with media members on Christmas Eve. Most of the questions were related to his future plans.

It’s more than obvious that Newton would love to stay in New England. He didn’t say it directly, but his behavior said it all.

One of the questions was about the reflection and the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Newton’s response turned into something else. His response showed his readiness to continue playing with the Patriots.

“This whole thing is not ideal for a lot of people. Being in the situation that I’m in right now. There is still so much that I wish I could do. Who knows what the future holds? I know where my heart is. I know what I would want. However things may play out, I’m a man. But at the same time, I know when you look back at things, there are certain things you wish happened, that didn’t happen, and there is no one to blame.”

That’s not all. The rest of his response was even more amazing.

“Through it all, I appreciate all you guys, the professionalism, and it starts with this organization. You hear all these things about how Boston is a different market, but y’all have been good to me.”

Newton may return, but head coach Bill Belichick may give him a different role. Will Newton be a starter? Maybe he will have to compete with other players for the starting job.

Second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham and veteran Brian Hoyer are still here. Belichick may also go after another quarterback in the NFL Draft.

2020 was a bit disappointing, and Patriots players will definitely try harder to fix the damage and play a better game. Let’s see what happens this offseason. Newton has to do a lot of thinking.
