Cam Newton Reveals Perfect New Nickname for N’Keal Harry

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton will never miss the chance to slap his teammates with a new nickname. Second-year wideout N’Keal Harry is next on his list. It looks like Newton has found the perfect nickname for his younger teammate.

Mike Reiss for ESPN was among the first to confirm it.

“It’s just a chance. In essence, a slogan or saying that you give a receiver is a ‘Chance Man.’ Just give him a chance, man. That was a ‘Chance Man’ type throw and he came down with it.”

Cam Newton picks a fitting nickname for N’Keal Harry

It’s a good nickname. Newton was inspired by the wideout’s strength to snag 50/50 balls over his defenders. We have to get used to seeing Harry’s new skills. The former Arizona State product had a nice catch from Newton in the Week 13 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He had 15 yards on two receptions and a touchdown. Yes, the New England Patriots got him for a reason.

Harry had another amazing catch in the following game against the Los Angeles Rams. The young receiver produced 49 yards on three touches. But, the “Chance Man” moniker may also depict Harry’s struggle with inconsistency throughout the entire season.

New England has to have a backup plan when it comes to putting Harry on the field. Head coach Bill Belichick doesn’t know what he will be getting from him week in and week out. Harry is healthy this season and looks much better than he used to look in his rookie campaign. But, Harry has yet to establish himself as a reliable target for the Patriots. He has yet to make a name for himself.

The receiver has stacked a total of 277 receiving yards on 29 receptions and two touchdowns in 11 games with the Patriots this season. He is an athletic player and this gives him a chance to perform at a higher level.

New England has a 6-7 record. Winning Sunday’s game increased their chances to make the playoffs this season. Is that even possible? Absolutely. Coach Belichick always has a backup plan for his team.
