Experts Made Their Predictions For Patriots vs Chargers Week 13 Game

The New England Patriots are playing against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13. This season came packed with too many surprises and players have to finish it under special circumstances. We can’t really imagine the Patriots standing at No.3 in the division. Well, things don’t look really well for the team at this point of the regular season. New England is 5-6, and they are coming off of a big 20-17 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Will the team try to make another playoff push? Head coach Bill Belichick and his players will meet the Chargers for a really important game, and experts have made four bold predictions for the game.

Patriots elite secondary to shut down the Chargers passing offense

The Chargers’ passing offense ranks second in the league. Rookie quarterback Justin Herbert leads the offense with 280 passing yards per game. NFL execs have praised Herbert for his contribution. But, the rookie has never taken a shot at Belichick and his squad. Belichick has great success against rookie quarterbacks regardless of their brilliance. The Patriots are 19-5 against rookie signal-callers and we all know what that means.

Harris to help the Patriots beat Chargers in Week 13

Damien Harris to rush for over 100 yards and 2 touchdowns

LA is in the bottom half of the league in terms of rushing defense. They allow 120 yards per game on the ground. The Patriots had some struggles in the passing game and Newton threw 84 yards on 50% completion percentage with  no touchdowns and two interception. But, New England won the game, and Harris may go for over 100 yards. He has already done that in three different occasions. Harris is the first running back to become a lead running back for the Patriots.

Starting quarterback Cam Newton to have a completion percentage of over 65%

The 2015 NFL MVP has seen some struggles with his accuracy in his career and he is a 60% passer. Newton has never gone over that number, but he won’t even need to do this in Week 13.

LA has one of the best secondary in the league, but Newton is expected to have a good performance. He will probably take shots downfield and opt for check down passes to backs and tight ends.

Patriots defense to limit LA to 20 points

The Patriots defense has played really strong in the past few seasons. Belichick tends to send multiple coverages against rookie signal-callers. Austin Ekeler may bring out great numbers, but Herbert won’t be that lucky.
