Former teammate reveals how LeBron reacted when he told him Michael Jordan was better to his face

The GOAT debate has been here for quite some time. It started at the very same time LeBron James entered the NBA. Everyone compared him to Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan. Almost everyone voted in favor of LeBron. However, one of his teammates decided to go with MJ.

Both players have had their accomplishments on the basketball court, but we can definitely agree on one thing. LeBron is the GOAT.

LeBron’s former Cavaliers teammate Brendan Haywood once told the King that MJ is the GOAT. He even shared his reasons to say this. Haywood mentioned Jordan’s rings, MVP awards, DPOYs, and other accomplishments. He explained that LeBron developed over time while Jordan had this thing from the very first moment he stepped on the basketball court.

LeBron reacts to Michael Jordan and the GOAT debate

What did LeBron say? He just nodded his head and didn’t say much. Well, this all happened way before LeBron won his ring with the Los Angeles Lakers. That ring was supposed to make doubters change their minds. And we believe that’s exactly what happened.

“One of the more interesting things is that I had the GOAT conversation with LeBron,” said Haywood. “We were on the plane and I told him: ‘I love you, brother, but I have to go with Mike.’ I told him my reasons. I’ve had this conversation with him face-to-face. Six rings. Six MVPs. The guy has had two different three-peats and has never been to a Game 7. He was MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season.

“I played with both of them and what LeBron has slowly but surely turned into from a confidence standpoint, MJ was that the first time he walked in the league. LeBron has gotten so much better at that. He has grown into a guy that close out games. Michael always had that ability. Michael always competed defensively. Both of those guys are incredible competitors.”

“They do things differently. The biggest difference is that MJ is a cold-blooded killer. He is an assassin. LeBron is more respected and loved. He is loved by his teammates and he is respected by his opponents. So when we had the GOAT debate, LeBron was just kind of nodding his head. He didn’t really say much. Mike Miller and James Jones said some things on his behalf. I don’t think LeBron agreed with me. But at that point, he hadn’t beaten Golden State. He didn’t have the ring he just got with the Lakers.”

LeBron won his first title in 2012. This championship win cemented his spot in the GOAT debate. Fans keep tracking his success, coming up with the excuse for their pick. LeBron has stacked some really great numbers throughout his long NBA career. He will enter his 18th season on Dec. 22, and he has a really great chance to win his fifth ring.

LeBron’s most recent playoff run gives him some extra points. Oh, he didn’t need any of that. He is the GOAT, and that’s the only thing that matters.
