Frank Vogel Shares His Lineup Strategy For When LeBron James or Anthony Davis Are Out

Anthony Davis didn’t play in the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has a good starting lineup strategy, and NBA experts approve it. Davis was ruled out of the game due to his right calf contusion. Vogel bared his strategy in case both Davis and LeBron James miss up the upcoming games on the schedule.

“I would anticipate that if LeBron or Anthony misses (a game), that Kyle would likely be the starter in those situations,” Vogel said via The Athletic, “because … he can fill in either one of those spots. But we’ll take that case by case.”

Kyle Kuzma was more than brilliant in the game. He started the contest at the power forward position because Davis didn’t play. He used the opportunity and scored 20 points, three rebounds, and three assists in 29 minutes on the floor.

The young Laker hit most of his points in the first half. The Lakers had a 67-45 lead at the end of the second quarter of the game. It was a big gap, and their opponents couldn’t really overcome the deficit. LeBron James was limited in the second half of the game. He rolled out the same ankle that he hurt in the season opening game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

King James finished with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and give assists in 26 minutes of game. LeBron was on the floor and Lakers players had great game. When he was off the floor, his teammates stepped on the gas pedal and finished the second half of the game and celebrated a 127-91 win.

Vogel and his team have a 2-1 record at this point of the season. The Timberwolves have an identical 2-1 tally.
