Gilbert Arenas Reveals His Request To LeBron James

Gilbert Arenas was the first rival LeBron James had at the beginning of his basketball career. The Washington Wizards and the Cleveland Cavaliers had some “really great” time on the floor. We all know what happened back in the days.

Arenas and the four-time NBA champion were rivals on the basketball court. Today, they have a friendly relationship. Arenas left the NBA in 2012, and now he tries to take a different role in the league.

Gilbert Arenas to join LeBron James

The former Wizards star made a request to LeBron, and it was definitely a surprising move. We never thought that Arenas would pull out something like this.

“I hit LeBron, and I said, ‘I would like to intern for the Lakers,’ like intern coaching. I give you guys the brain and how I see the game and try to add. But I get to learn how to run practice, break down film,” Arenas said on his podcast.

Will LeBron help Arenas get the job? Will he accept the offer? According to sources, LeBron told his former rival that he would consult the front office to work on the topic.

Imagine Arenas on the Lakers bench. He was one of the most entertaining players back in the days. He was excellent during his prime. Arenas can be a cool addition to the Lakers’ coaching staff. Of course, he has to be mature and wise to get that role.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel is doing a really good job, and he has to work with the finest of all fine. The Los Angeles Lakers won a championship in the 2019-20 NBA season, and they are going after another title. LeBron has a key role and he will work alongside Anthony Davis and some of the best names in the NBA. Marc Gasol, Dennis Schroder, Markieff Morris, and many others will help the team win. Talen Horton-Tucker was brilliant in the preseason opener against the Los Angeles Clippers. His team won the game without LeBron and AD. The Lakers can do wonders with their superstars on the basketball court.
