The 2020-21 NBA season will start in two days and Kyle Kuzma signed his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. This will sure motivate the young star to do even better in the upcoming season. Kuzma is a talented player and the Lakers front office locked him up for the near future.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Lakers forward has agreed to sign a three-year contract extension worth $40 million. This includes a player option on 2023-24.

Kyle Kuzma signs his long-awaited contract with the Lakers

Kuzma was the 27th overall selection by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2018 NBA Draft. The team sent him to LA in a draft-night deal.

In his first three season in LA, Kuzma has averaged double digits in scoring. However, his role saw a significant change this past season. The Los Angeles Lakers signed Anthony Davis and his arrival changed Kuzma’s time on the floor.

Kuzma doesn’t mind coming off the bench. He did that in Orlando. LA looked a lot different inside the NBA bubble.

In the 2018-19 season, Kuzma joined the starting lineup in 68 of 70 games. He was averaging 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. However, the Lakers missed the postseason.

In the 2019-20 season, Kuzma was averaging 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. Let’s not forget that the Lakers won their title in Orlando, and Kuzma was part of the championship winning team.

This season is different. The Lakers look a lot different and they have added a bunch of talented players, including Montrezl Harrell, Marc Gasol, Dennis Schroder, and Wesley Matthews. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka packed the roster with talent and he gave LA a chance to win back-to-back titles. The Lakers have won all four games this preseason. Talen Horton-Tucker was the star of the preseason, and Lakers head coach may consider giving him a better role on the basketball court. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis have spoken words of praise for the newly-acquired Lakers players. Will this Lakers team win a championship? Things look really great for the purple and gold nation. It’s showtime!
