Lakers’ LeBron Gives Brutally Honest Comment On Playing Without Fans

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James doesn’t really like playing his best basketball without any fans in attendance. The four-time NBA champion has made comments on this topic at the very beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. How does he feel about this? Well, LeBron would gladly win games in front of his most loyal fans.

The 2020-21 NBA season will start in a couple of weeks. NBA teams had little time to rest, and the Lakers had the shortest offseason in team history. LA defeated the Miami Heat in six games in the NBA Finals. Players returned home with a trophy, and had little to no time to get ready for the upcoming season.

LeBron may be playing without any fans at all

This past summer, the NBA decided to send players inside a bubble to finish the regular season and open the postseason. They won’t create a bubble in the 2020-21 campaign, but players will have to play their games without the crowds. Well, things may change later in the season. For now, NBA games will be played without any fans.

Now imagine an empty Staples Center. Oh, LeBron is definitely a fan of that. King James talked about this on Thursday. Crowds play a big role in his game, and he would definitely miss his fans in the stands.

“It’ll never be something that’s comfortable, something I can be accustomed to or something that will feel regular,” LeBron said. “When I first started playing organized sports, [fans] were there. It’s all a part of it. The fans are a part of this game.”

NBA officials hope to have fans back in the stands later in the regular season. Several teams plan to have limited attendance. However, these plans can easily change if the situation gets worse. Or better.

Pretty much everything depends on states and their restrictions. Los Angeles had strict pandemic rules, and teams will probably play in empty arenas throughout the entire season. LeBron would be more than shocked, but he has to do the best for himself, his teammates and family. Safety first. COVID-19 is not a joke.
