LeBron James Agrees to Massive 2-Year Extension With Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t playing games. The front office added several big players this offseason in an effort to build a strong roster. It’s not like the previous team was weak. The 2019-20 Lakers team won the championship in Orlando. General Manager Rob Pelinka built an even stronger team. That’s not the only thing he did in the past couple of weeks. All-Star Anthony Davis has yet to sign his deal with the team. Guess what… Great LeBron James signed his contract extension with the Lakers well before Davis inked his deal.

Yes, it was a surprising move for the team. No one thought that the front office would work on LeBron’s deal. The Lakers made a big move and re-signed King James to a big two-year contract extension. He is not going anywhere. Everything points to the fact that LeBron will retire in his purple and gold uniform.

LeBron James signed his extension with the Lakers with one reason

Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul told The Athletic that LeBron has agreed to sign his $85 million extension with the Lakers. His deal goes through the 2022-23 season.

LeBron will turn 36 in December, but he has shown that age has nothing on him.

The Lakers will re-sign Davis in the next few days. According to initial reports, the team was supposed to meet with the big man in order to sign the deal. It’s interesting to note that the Lakers didn’t mention anything about LeBron’s extension. That’s why this contract came as a surprise.

This extension confirmed the rumors about LeBron’s willingness to retire as a Laker. He found his home and he is really happy with the team. King James has had great success with the team, and this contract extension is definitely a good move for the team.

In the 2019-20 season, LeBron was averaging 25.3 points, 10.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds per game with the Lakers. He led the team to a title and won the NBA Finals MVP award. This was his fourth ring and fourth NBA Finals MVP award. LeBron played with three different teams, and he won’t go anywhere till the rest of his career.
