LeBron James Gets Brutally Honest About Clippers Trash Talking, Playoff Collapse

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and many others were shocked to see the Clippers collapse in the 2019-20 NBA playoffs in Orlando. Kawhi Leonard and his team had a big chance to confront LeBron’s Lakers, but they failed to do the job.

King James showed up on the Road Trippin’ podcast on Monday to discuss the Clippers’ playoff run with former teammates Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye. Host Allie Clifton was leading the discussion.

LeBron didn’t back when talking about his city rivals and the fact that they weren’t able to live up to the Battle of LA hype.

“They put theyself in a position to get what they’ve been talking s–t about all year, ). And I just couldn’t fathom the part or come to the realization that they did not seek that opportunity when it was right there … up 3-1.”

LeBron witnessed the Clippers collapse

LeBron talked about the Clippers and their self-destructive performance in the Western Conference semifinals against the Denver Nuggets. Seeing them destroy a 3-1 lead was really bad. Most NBA teams were shocked. LeBron couldn’t believe that the Clippers would go this low. They had a tough game throughout the season after all. The Nuggets walked all over them.

“I just did not see them losing, just like everybody else in the basketball and sports world, did not see them losing that series.”

NBA analysts wrote a lot about the boost both LA teams received. There was significant improvement on both sides. Kawhi and Paul George were leading the Lakers. But, this leadership wasn’t enough. Moreover, this leadership was so bad that Montrezl Harrell decided to follow a better leader.

In the first regular-season games, Kawhi’s team had an aggressive approach and there was a lot of trash-talking. They actually rubbed the wins against the Lakers fanbase.

Both LA teams finished as the two top seeds in the West. Fans wanted to see them in the conference finals. However, LeBron’s team reached the top and ended up playing against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat. Kawhi’s teammates went home with a disappointing loss on their back.
