LeBron James ‘Redefining’ Akron Community With Massive New Project

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has started off another Akron project in order to support the community. King James may no longer be part of Akron, but he is definitely involved in pretty much everything related to the city.

The LeBron James Family Foundation surprised the nation with the most recent initiative. They are now working on a new community hub in Akron. House Three Thirty will be of great help in the area.

LeBron surprises Akron community with new project

It’s an interesting name, related to the 330 area code of Akron. LeBron’s foundation got the Tangier, and entertainment complex that covers 60,000 square feet. It will house the initiative and provide great opportunities for locals. According to sources, Housing 330 will provide financial-literacy advice, job training, and recreational activities for young people.

“It really started, much like everything we do, from the ground up,” says LJFF executive director Michele Campbell. “You have more intimate relationship when you have people living in your building 24/7. We started listening to some of the struggles with employment and job training and really digging deeper with our families. So we learned pretty quickly that the next part of the movement, if you’re to going to change the trajectory of a whole community, was we need that job-training piece.”

The foundation will also provide training in the venue, such as plumbing, heating and cooling, food service, merchandising and much more.

House 330 is going to be a sanctuary for our families,” LeBron said. “It’s going to be a place where all our families can grow and learn. This will be a hub for everything possible our families will need.”

In 2018, LeBron established the I Promise School. Today, it has over 450 students in grade school. It joined forces with the University of Akron and Kent State University in order to give students free scholarships.

LeBron won’t stop here, and he is expected to do much more. His impact on and off the court has been making headlines for quite some time. The House Three Thirty will open up new opportunities for kids and their families.
