LeBron James Statement on Playing with Bronny James Is Going Viral

NBA fans would love to see Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James playing with his oldest son Bronny. They would be the first father-son duo to play at the same moment in the NBA.

King James signed his two-year extension worth $85 million. Anthony Davis signed a five-year deal worth $190 million. The 2019-20 Lakers team won the title inside the Orlando bubble and they have a real chance to win another title. However, LeBron has other ideas on his mind. In 2023, he will enter the open market. His oldest son Bronny will graduate that year. Will the NBA change the rules related to the eligibility for the NBA draft. Maybe Bronny could be a first-round pick after all.

LeBron may be playing with Bronny

The four-time NBA champion discussed this possibility on Monday. He will be 38 in the summer of 2023.

“The best thing about it is the year I’ll be a free agent will be the same year my oldest son graduates high school,” LeBron said in a conference call. “So I’ll have some options to see, for me personally, what I want to do forward, being around my family, being around my son more or continue to play this game I love with great health and great spirits. We’ll see.”

Bronny was a freshman last year at Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth. He caught the eye of many scouts, and let’s be honest, he was great in the tournaments. Let’s not forget that the young king scored 15 points in the game against St. Vincent-St. Mary’s in Akron. Yes, it’s his father’s school.

24/7 Sports ranks Bronny as 19th best player in 2023. He will probably play under Mike Krzyzewski at Duke. The coach is a good friend of LeBron, and they developed a good relationship during their Olympics in 2008 and 2021. They also worked together in the 2006 World Championship.

LeBron dreams of sharing the court with his son.

“You want to ask me what is the greatest achievement of my life? If I’m on the same court as my son in the NBA,” he said in a 2018 “Uninterrupted” feature. “That would be number one in my lifetime as an NBA player. I’ve thought about it because my son is about to be 14, and he might be able to get in there a little earlier.”
