LeBron James Throws Harsh Shade at Giannis Antetokounmpo

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has something to say about the reigning NBA MVP and now he throws shade on Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Greek Freak and his team had a disappointing season in the NBA bubble. Giannis was unable to lead his team to the top of the conference. Yes, his performance was brilliant, but the Bucks weren’t able to play well.

Giannis is an incredible player with great dominance on the basketball court. NBA experts have praised the elite defender for his scoring rate. But, Giannis may not be a great scorer after all and his offense is pretty one-dimensional.

King James appeared on the Road Trippin’ podcast to talk about Giannis’ scoring ability.

“Channing [Frye] said last week, I don’t care; Milwaukee didn’t get better because Giannis can’t score,” LeBron said. “And people online went crazy because they were like ‘he averaged 30! What do you mean he can’t score?’ I know what Channing is basically talking about. You got to break down the game.”

Does this mean that LeBron agrees with Frye? Probably. Giannis may not be a good scorer after all. If you take a look at his shot chart, you’d notice that he mostly scores in the paint. Giannis’ mid-range game “is non-existent” and he shoots 28% from three in his career. LeBron admits that Giannis scores a lot of points, but his offense “isn’t very diverse.”

LeBron James throws shade at Giannis despite his great words

Giannis has nothing but words of praise for the four-time NBA champion.

“It doesn’t matter who is the MVP. [LeBron] is the best,” the Bucks star said on the Greek channel COSMOTE TV. “I say so. He is the best in the world. The day that I would be the best player in the world, I will step forward and say it.”

Maybe Giannis should add some spice to his offensive game. These changes would make him an unstoppable force in the world of basketball. He is probably the only player to take LeBron’s throne following his retirement.

Giannis can sign his max extension on December 21. Maybe he won’t sign a new deal right now. Milwaukee signed Jrue Holiday and he is a nice addition to the team.
