Los Angeles Lakers Bring Back Recently Released Veteran

The Los Angeles Lakers decided to bring back a talented veteran and we bet LeBron James will be super happy to hear the big news.

LA waived veteran guard Quinn Cook this offseason. He played less minutes than usual and seemed pretty expendable. In one of his most recent interviews, LeBron said he would love to see Cook back at Staples Center. Well, guess what… The Lakers are re-signing him.

Cook has played with two of the last three championship teams. He didn’t play much but the team got the best of him. His leadership was of great help in the locker room. Cook will probably be one of the better 3-point shooters on the Lakers roster. The front office decided to bring him back right after waiving him. Maybe they realized that there was enough room for Cook. Having a familiar face back is always good.

The Lakers were happy to bring back the veteran

The Lakers are favorites to win the title in the upcoming season. Head coach Frank Vogel said this season may be even harder for the squad.

“We’re going to have to be even better,” the head coach said Friday. “The first thing you have to understand about going into a repeat situation is it’s going to be harder than the year before. The bull’s eye is going to be bigger. We played longer than everybody else and had a shorter offseason than anybody else, so the odds are stacked against us from that standpoint. The identity of what and who we were last year has got to be repeated.”

LA added Dennis Schroder, Montrezl Harrell, Marc Gasol and a few other players. According to Vogel, they are “nasty dudes.”

“The guys that we’ve brought in here are nasty dudes,” Vogel said. “These guys are all physical dudes that have that sort of edge to them that I think they’ll embrace right away. Obviously, the group that’s returning knows the value in what we created last year, and hopefully, we’ll establish that early on.”

Fans can’t wait to see the best of this Lakers team. It’s showtime!
