Los Angeles Lakers Starting Lineup For Upcoming Season Revealed

The Los Angeles Lakers will win games with the right starting lineup in 2020-21. The franchise won the first title in a decade, and LeBron James made it happen. Guess what… The Lakers are ready to win back-to-back titles. Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka and the front office gave LeBron the assets he needs. All-Star Anthony Davis will re-sign a big deal with the team and the team will make a few more changes.

Danny Green, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, and Avery Bradley won’t be playing with the team this season as they left the franchise this offseason. LA brought Dennis Schröder, Wesley Matthews, Montrezl Harrell, Marc Gasol, and Alfonso McKinnie to the roster. They also re-signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Markieff Morris.

LA Lakers to have a strong starting lineup

Getting big names gives Lakers head coach a big challenge. He has to pick the right starters for the team. The Oklahoma City Thunder traded Schroder to the Lakers. He was a backup for Chris Paul this past season. The German native spoke on the starting lineup in his video conference with media members.

“I did this off-the-bench stuff already in two years with OKC. I think I try to move forward, and I think with [Anthony Davis] and LeBron, I can be helpful as a starter in the PG position.”

Schroder was averaging 18.9. points, 3.6 rebounds and four assists while shooting 46.9% from the field and 38.5% from beyond the arc with the Oklahoma City Thunder last season. He was a runner-up for the Sixth Man of the Year award next to Montrezl Harrell. Schroder would love to play in the starting lineup, and ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported that he may be asked to come off the Lakers bench.

The Lakers lack a traditional point guard in the starting lineup. LeBron was the team’s primary ball-handler and he was averaging 10.2 assists which is a career-high for him. If Schroder enters the lineup, he will relieve LeBron some of the burden.

LA had LeBron, Bradley, Green, Davis, and JaVale McGee in the starting lineup this past season. If Vogel makes the expected changes, he will probably put Schroder, KCP, LeBron, Davis, and Gasol in the starting lineup.
