N’Keal Harry Trainer Calls Out Writer For ‘Misquote’ About Cam Newton

Many experts criticized the one-dimensional offense New England had in 2020. The New England Patriots had their struggles throughout the entire season. Starting quarterback Cam Newton is a constant target these days. Everyone blames him for the 6-7 record New England has. But, we can’t blame Newton for every problem the team had in the regular season. The 2015 NFL MVP will be one of the most polarizing players in the league. Newton’s stats don’t look too good, and he gave doubters too much to talk about. But, it wasn’t really his fault. N’Keal Harry had some struggles too, but his trainer would never blame Newton.

That’s not the case with Henry McKenna from USA Today. He blamed Newton for Harry’s lack of production. His article didn’t really sit well with Harry’s trainer Richad Whitfield.  The Footwork King made some shocking comments regarding the article McKenna wrote.

“We’ve got a new quarterback. We’ve got to put some of that (expletive) on Cam. Cam hasn’t been the most accurate this year. Like, if (Harry) had Tom Brady, Tom Brady would’ve fed him. But we’re back there with Cam, and Cam’s getting acclimated to the offense, too. It’s a big deal coming from Tom Brady to Cam Newton. … That’s one of Cam Newton’s biggest issues is mechanics.”

N’Keal Harry and Cam Newton enjoy full support of trainer Richad Whitfield

It’s more than obvious that McKenna placed the blame on Newton for Harry’s low stats. Whitfield claims he was misquoted and took to Twitter to make his point.

Whitfield is not someone who plays the blame game. McKenna wrote his article, but Whitfield doesn’t agree with any of this. Maybe it was a big misunderstanding. Maybe McKenna knew what he was doing.

Harry’s trainer will do whatever it takes to make things clear. Whitfield promised to call Newton and clear the air, but McKenna stands by his comments.

Harry did improve his play in the past two games. New England had to deal with a terrible loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but Harry showed everyone that he is a good fit for the Patriots. He was a first-round pick after all.
