Paul George Shares Details on Convincing Anthony Davis to Join Him on Indiana Pacers

Los Angeles Clippers superstar Paul George shared his Anthony Davis story. He was able to get AD to want to play alongside him when George was part of the Indiana Pacers.

Today, Davis is a Laker and George is playing with his city rivals. Truth is, these two would make an interesting duo earlier in their pro careers.

“We had a top-three player in the league at this time, power forward, that I was trying to get to come to Indy,” George said. “He wanted to come. I bring it to the front office, they ain’t do it. They deaded it.”

Paul George wanted Anthony Davis in Indiana

Here comes the big surprise. The Clippers star revealed that the big-name player was actually the Lakers big man. They talked a lot and Davis wanted to join the Pacers. It was the perfect opportunity and the Pacers had a cool game back then.

“It was AD,” George said. “Me and AD talked. AD wanted to come to Indy. Close to Chicago, he was like, ‘Man it’s perfect. Y’all got something going over there.’”

Indiana passed on offering Davis a deal. This was one of the reasons George had to leave the Pacers. He and Davis are rivals in LA, and their teams will meet in the pre-season opener. Well, sources reveal that Davis and LeBron James will probably skip this game in order to get ready for the regular season. They need to stay strong and healthy for the long season. Everything points to the fact that Davis and his team will make the postseason again and hopefully, win the big title.

The Denver Nuggets eliminated George and his Clippers in the second round of the NBA playoffs. Kawhi Leonard’s team blew a 3-1 series lead against Denver.

The Lakers and their city rivals will compete to make the top spot in the West again when the 2020-21 NBA season starts. The Clippers lost Montrezl Harrell to the Lakers, and their roster looks really weak right now. Weaker than the current Lakers’ roster. General Manager Rob Pelinka added several valuable players to the roster, giving his team a better chance to win the championship.
