Paul Pierce Pays Ultimate Praise to Lakers’ LeBron James

NBA analyst Paul Pierce is not a fan of LeBron James. But, he did make one big admission. The retired NBA player made headlines with his comments on the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. He even shocked everyone with his Top 5 NBA players of all time. Well, it looks like Pierce changed his mind. The analyst changed his tune and said LeBron was “the best point guard” in the NBA at the moment. Words of praise? Coming from Paul Pierce himself? We don’t see this every day.

Pierce talked to Rachel Nichols and Richard Jefferson in the most recent episode of ESPN’s The Jump. They talked about a survey of NBA GMs about the best playmakers in the NBA. Guess what… Pierce is switching his vote to King James.

“Originally, I said Luka Doncic but if LeBron is the best player, and he played point guard, why is he not the best point guard in the league?  He led the league in assists. I forgot that LeBron just switched to point guard by the way. He’s clearly the best point guard in the league.”

Paul Pierce supports LeBron James

According to the survey, LeBron was considered the fifth-best point guard in the NBA. He got 11 percent of all votes. Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is on top of the list with his 30%. Let’s not forget that he played just five games this past season.

Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers is third with 22 percent of the votes. Dallas Mavericks phenom Luka Doncic is next on the list. Chris Paul from the phoenix Suns ranks fourth with 11 percent and Houston Rockets’ James Harden ranks sixth with four percent.

King James plays small forward for the Los Angeles Lakers. However, he is the one moving things around on most of the team’s possessions. The four-time NBA MVP champion leads the league in assists for the first time in his long career in 2019-20. He had 10.2 per game, adding averages of 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals.

When it comes to Paul Pierce, it’s more than great to see him support the greatest of all time.
