Report: Broncos WR Named Potential Free-Agent Target for the Patriots

The New England Patriots will soon bring their disappointing season to an end. Things didn’t go as expected and Patriots players had too many struggles on the field. The receiving unit saw many changes, injuries, and mistakes. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton was leading the team throughout the entire season, but there’s almost no hope for us to see Patriots players in the playoffs. Many have started asking questions regarding the New England Patriots and their 2021 roster. Head coach Bill Belichick has to make a few decisions. According to most recent reports, Denver Broncos WR Tim Patrick may be the next target for the Patriots.

Patrick ran a respectable 4.47 40-yard dash at his pro day in 2017. The Utah product measures at 6’4 and weighs close to 220 pounds. He is definitely a large target for a quarterback.

The talented player is a strong YAG receiver who has the ability to get in and out of the breaks. He is almost always open even when playing against elite cornerbacks. Is this why CLNS’ Evan Lazar considers Patrick a threat? Maybe the Patriots will go after him in free agency.

In Week 6, Patrick had a good game against the Patriots with four receptions for 101 yards. It’s one of the three occasions this year he has went over the 100-yard mark. Denver won the game despite all the COVID-19 issues. Head coach Bill Belichick is a person who always remembers opposing players who gives him fits.

Broncos WR to turn into a target for the Patriots

Fans can already see Belichick sign Patrick. We can already see him put on a Patriots uniform.

Patrick will become a restricted free agent. Patriots cap expert Miguel Bezan explained that the tender for a second-rounder like Patrick goes at $3.3 million. But, New England may have to offer Patrick a bigger contract to get him in 2021. Belichick will never overpay the talented veteran.

The Patriots have a lot of cap space, and they will get even more this offseason. Several players may retire, and the team will get more money following the trades. Unsigned free agents are also here.

If Belichick likes Patrick, he will sure go after him.
