Report: Patriots Released A Wide Receiver In Surprising Move

The New England Patriots won’t stop making changes. The organization has signed and released many players in the past couple of months. In the most recent surprising move, the Patriots decided to release one wide receiver. It’s the same player they traded for two weeks ago.

This move comes as a huge surprise. New England decided to get rid of 24-year-old Isaiah Ford. They got the young wideout at the NFL trade deadline in November.

The Miami Dolphins selected Ford in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech. He spent three seasons with the Dolphins from 2017 to 2020.

Patriots decide to release the young wide receiver

The Patriots traded a conditional seventh-round NFL Draft pick for the wideout at the NFL trade deadline. Head coach Bill Belichick would love to add depth to the receiving unit. Veteran wideout Julian Edelman will miss some time after undergoing knee procedure. Many thought that Ford would boost the unit and contribute to the field.

Well, this didn’t happen and the Patriots decided to give up on him.

“The Patriots have released WR Isaiah Ford today. Acquired for a late-round pick at the trade deadline, as insurance for N’Keal Harry, he was leapfrogged by Donte Moncrief,” ESPN NFL insider Mike Reiss tweeted on Saturday.

The Patriots won their game against the Arizona Cardinals, and it was an unexpected win for the team. Veteran quarterback Cam Newton had a poor performance but his team found a way to win the match. Patriots players have a few games left on the schedule and they have to win them all. It won’t be easy but Belichick can lead his team to the top of the list again.

Newton and his teammates will play against the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday and hopefully, they will win the game. This win would help them reach .500, and that’s what New England needs right now. Big wins are always great, and the Patriots should really do their best to win the upcoming game.
