Report: Patriots Rule Out Two Key Players For Matchup vs Dolphins

The New England Patriots have another must-win game on the schedule. But, the team will enter Sunday’s game without two contributors. NFL experts are really excited about the Patriots vs Dolphins game, and they came up with the perfect prediction about the team.

Well, playing without key contributors is really hard. The Patriots will have to do that without their leading rusher and top kick returner.

Patriots enter Sunday’s game vs Dolphins without top running back

Running back Damien Harris is out due to his ankle issue. Wide receiver Donte Moncrief was ruled out due to his thigh condition. The Patriots confirmed both reports. Moreover, both Harris and Moncrief didn’t travel with the team to South Florida.

Harris had to leave last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams due to a back injury. The Patriots listed him as full participant for Wednesday’s practice. Harris found his spot on the injury report due to another ailment. He was limited participant Thursday and Friday.

Moncrief left the game against LA early. The Patriots limited his practice in all three sessions this week.

Harris is out and the Patriots will probably use Sony Michel as a replacement. He will become the Patriots’ lead back. The 2018 first-round draft pick had this position for two seasons before ending on IR in week 4. Harris got the job and he was averaging 5.0 yards per carry.

Michel was a complementary option in the past couple of games. He was rushing 17 times for 57 yards and was able to catch one pass on two targets for 23 yards. Michel did see a bigger role on special teams.

Undrafted rookie J.J. Taylor will go back into the lineup to add depth behind Michel and James White. Taylor had great moments this season but hasn’t seen any snaps since Week 3. The Patriots ruled him and White as questionable for Sunday’s game.

The Patriots listed 12 players as questionable for the game:

DT Adam Butler (shoulder)
DT Byron Cowart (back)
OT Jermaine Eluemunor (ankle)
K Nick Folk (back)
DT Lawrence Guy (shoulder)
OL Justin Herron (ankle)
CB J.C. Jackson (knee)
CB Jonathan Jones (neck)
G Shaq Mason (calf)
WR Matthew Slater (knee)
RB J.J. Taylor (quadricep)
RB James White (foot)
