Talen Horton-Tucker Makes Case to Join Frank Vogel’s Rotation

Talen Horton-Tucker was brilliant this preseason, and he can easily join Frank Vogel’s rotation. Yes, the young player had an amazing performance on Sunday night. He led the Los Angeles Lakers to a big win against their city rivals. Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and the rest of the players on the Clippers roster had no chance against the Lakers. Yes, they lost the game to the Lakers bench. How impressive is that? It looks like the Lakers front office did an amazing job.

Horton-Tucker was so great that fans started talking about his increased role in the 2020 season. Well, Lakers head coach has already thought about this. Giving Horton-Tucker a bigger role looks like a really good decision.

Horton-Tucker to get a special role in Frank Vogel’s rotation

In Sunday’s win over the Clippers, Horton-Tucker hit 33 points and 10 rebounds. It was a stellar performance, and the young shooting guard caught everyone’s attention. Vogel said he wasn’t ready to commit to anything at this point.

“We have a very deep team. No minutes are guaranteed,” Vogel said. “He’s going to keep playing at a high level, and that should push everybody else to stay playing at a high level. It does give us that luxury of having him carry the load some for some of our guys who played deep in the championship run last year and had a short offseason.”

Horton-Tucker was amazing in Friday’s 87-81 win, too. He led both teams in scoring and finished the night with 19 points. His back-to-back outstanding performances deserve a reward, and maybe Vogel will give him a chance to see a bigger role.

The Los Angeles Lakers will enter the 2020-21 NBA season with a talented roster. It’s more than obvious that the Lakers have the deepest squad than most teams in the league. Horton-Tucker is just one star in the entire galaxy, and that’s more than great news for the Lakers fanbase. Vogel once said they got some “nasty players,” and we all know the true meaning behind these words. LBJ, AD and the rest of the guys will sure make a show on the basketball court.
