Vanessa Bryant Calls Out Her Mother Over ‘Hurtful’ Lawsuit

Vanessa Bryant had to deal with so much this year, and her mother’s lawsuit was the final drop. Her husband, Kobe, died in January. Vanessa lost her daughter Gianna in the same helicopter crash. Now her mother, Sofia Laine, claims Vanessa didn’t give her due compensation after Kobe died.

Laine said she had to work as a caretaker and nanny without built-in breaks. She also complained that Vanessa kicked her out of the home following Kobe’s death.

Vanessa Bryant responds to Sofia’s lawsuit

Vanessa responded to her mother’s lawsuit, claiming that her mother was never a nanny to her kids.

“My mother is continuing to try and find ways to extort a financial windfall from our family. I have supported her for nearly twenty years, and she was never my or Kobe’s personal assistant, nor was she a nanny. I have always been a stay-at-home mother and my husband and I were our daughters’ full-time care givers. For nearly two decades, we arranged for my mother to live in our nearby properties, at no cost to her because she had claimed that she didn’t have any money to buy her own home after her divorce.

“…Watched our girls from time to time, just like most grandparents do. She did not take care of business issues or expences. She was a grandmother who was supported by me and her son-in-law at my request. Wants to back charge me $96 per hour for 18 years for watching her grandchildren. In reality, she only occasionally babysat my older girls when they were toddlers. As of then years ago, our kids were full time students and athletes and I didn’t have another child until 2016.”

This is not the only lawsuit Vanessa deals with. She also sued the Los Angeles County sheriff over shocking photos of the crash that killed her husband and daughter.

Vanessa goes through a nightmare right now. Dealing with a lawsuit from her mother is the last thing she needed this year. Her family has been exposed to the media, and they can’t make a move without reporters.
