Watch: Lakers ‘Clear Cut Favorites’ Says LeBron James’ Ex-Teammate

The Los Angeles Lakers were pretty busy this offseason. General Manager Rob Pelinka did a lot of great moves, signing great players and securing great deals for his superstars. They signed Dennis Schroder, Wesley Matthews, Marc Gasol and a few others. Anthony Davis signed a five-year deal and LeBron James signed his two-year deal. If you ask Kendrick Perkins, he will say that the Lakers will win their title thanks to LeBron and the offseason moves Pelinka made.

LA Lakers to win with LeBron

Perkins appeared on the Heavy Live With Scoop B Show to talk about the Lakers and their chances to win a title.

“They won,” he said. “They won Scoop B. Won big time! The way that Rob Pelinka was aggressive in free agency, I was expecting Lawrence Frank to be that aggressive for the Clippers. I mean, just think about it. Rob Pelinka got off a Danny Green contract and went and signed Wesley Matthews for 3.6 Million dollars.

“He was able to land Montrezl Harrell from his crosstown rival, Sixth Man of the Year; a guy that’s almost giving you 20 a night and then you already had Dennis Schroeder who you traded for and got him back still on his prime, was the runner up for Sixth Man of the Year and who’s capable of giving you 20 a night also. So you sign Anthony Davis to a 5-year, you lock in LeBron James for 2 years after next year and it’s like; Rob Pelinka is making all the right moves of a team that’s looking to win its first title and I’m looking at this Lakers offseason and the additions that they added and I’m like, if somebody don’t make a move right now, they are the clear cut favorites.”

Pelinka signed great players

To get the German native, the Lakers traded Danny Green to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He joined the Philadelphia 76ers. Dwight Howard is part of the team, too. Perkins likes both players, and believes they will have a good game in their new team.

LA missed big names this offseason. They will have to play without Howard, Green, and a few other players. But, LeBron is here and he will play with some of the best players in the NBA. The Lakers have a nice depth and Perkins is right about his theory.
