Alex Caruso Makes Surprising Admission About Lakers Teammate

The Los Angeles Lakers finished 21st in the league in 3-point percentage last season. However, things changed this time and players have shot 40% from three in 16 games. That’s the third-best in the NBA. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope played big role in the process, and Alex Caruso made a shocking admission about his teammate.

KCP is shooting 50% on 3-pointers in 2021. He can easily break the record for the highest percentage in the regular season. Kyle Korver shot less than 54% in the 2009-2010 season. KCP was brilliant against the Milwaukee Bucks in Thursday’s win. He shot 7-10 from three. It was a great performance, but Caruso didn’t really realize that KCP played that well in the night.

Of course, some guys called out Caruso for not noticing the incredible performance his teammate had. The guard makes everything easy, and Caruso tried to get away with the previous remark.

Alex Caruso made surprising admission

The Lakers front office gave KCP a nice contract in the offseason. It was one of the best moves the franchise made. KCP is the best shooter and a fitting player in the offense. Four-time NBA champion LeBron James recognized his greatness.

KCP, he knows why he’s out on the floor,” LeBron said. “That’s to spread that floor, that’s to give us a lot of energy … When he’s open, we want him to shoot it. When he’s guarded closely, we want him to still shoot it. And when he’s shooting the ball, he’s just so good. He’s just so good for our ball club.

“He just gives us a different dynamic. Just gives everyone energy, and we love when he’s taking and making shots, and we love when he’s just aggressive and being himself. That’s big time.”

KCP is really confident. He played really well in the playoffs. This motivated him to do even better.

“It’s just the confidence in the work I put in,” Caldwell-Pope said. “I know where my shots are going to come from, where I need to be to get them shots, and just being in a great rhythm every game. Try not to worry about no missing shots.

“I mean, I had two or three shots last game against Golden State. Try not to let that mess with my mind, that I’m not getting shots. I know they’re going to come. It’s just being ready to shoot and staying in a good rhythm.”
