Bill Belichick Has Big Demand From Chase Winovich For Next Season

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will probably make Chase Winovich change his approach. The young player has 11 sacks in his two years with the Patriots. Seth Walter from ESPN reported that Winovich led in sacks in 2020.

Bill Belichick to keep Chase Winovich

Wino is one of the Patriots’ few pass rushers. He has plenty of time and room to grow and Belichick will support him throughout the entire process. Mike Reiss from ESPN reported that Belichick will probably make Winovich gain weight in the offseason.

“At 240ish, 245 [pounds], he would be best suited if he’s on the line of scrimmage going against 320-pound monsters to be 260,” the coach said during a brief evaluation of player talent.

Winovich can definitely add more weight. He offers nice explosion at the point of attack, but he could definitely use some extra muscle mass. If Wino gets stronger and elevates his explosiveness, he will definitely double his sack total. Plus, he will also have more experience.

A big change in 2021

Truth is, the Patriots need to boost Wino’s group. Josh Uche is more than talented, and he showed some insane skills during his minutes on the field.

Uche measures at 6 inch 4, 245 pounds. NFL experts believe that Wino and Uche will give the Patriots a steady edge pass rush.

NFL fans were impressed with Uche’s versatility in 2020. Maybe he was given too much responsibility at the beginning of his career. Belichick likes Uche a lot and made great prediction for the players’ 2021 season.

“We were kind of trying to figure out early what his best spot would be, and took a little while for all that to materialize. He’s a good football player and we’ll be able to define his role and his situation much better next year. … he’s got a good future.”

If New England tries to add depth in this aspect, the team will have to do a good job in the NFL Draft and free agency. Belichick needs to cover a lot of holes and this draft is important for the entire organization.
