Bill Belichick Makes Honest Admission Before Offseason

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is a man of a few words, but he always makes honest admission about the current situation. New England finished the disappointing season with a win over the New York Jets. This win didn’t change their chances to make the playoffs. New England was well outside the playoff run.  In the first season Tom Brady-less season, the Patriots went 7-9.

How will the Patriots handle the offseason? Who is the first to go? Veteran quarterback Cam Newton is the first name on the list. How will this affect the team’s plans for the future? Newton signed a one-year deal with the Patriots. Most experts don’t really believe that the Patriots will bring Newton back for another season. The team has enough cap space and they will sure try to get a few big pieces in the offseason.

Patriots head coach Belichick talked about the offseason on Monday morning. His answer was pretty telling.

“Honestly, I don’t know if we could be anymore aggressive than we were the last six years… There’s a residual to that,” he said.

Bill Belichick surprised experts with his admission

The Patriots had 20 straight trips to the Super Bowl. Veteran quarterback Tom Brady helped them win six Super Bowls. TB12 and Belichick built a dynasty. Is this the end of the Patriots dynasty?

Belichick made a few moves ahead of Brady’s departure. This puts the entire team in a different situation. Bill Belichick leads his teams to a victory, and he will do that again. The Patriots are entering a long offseason and Belichick has enough time to make the right move. He will probably make a few great moves this offseason. Finding the right starting quarterback is a priority for the organization. The Patriots will probably be aggressive in the offseason. They have to address all the questions related to the receiving unit. Belichick has to add depth to the tight end unit, too.
